i am somebody......

so a few months ago a superb dj by the name of dj mehdi passed away. he was one of the best ive ever seen or heard, im not gonna go into his life story, all i will say is that the music world lost a guy with a lot of passion for it. here are a few of my fav pics of him in action. all i can say if if u dont know him, u missed out. very sad..........

so i was listening to daft punk pretty much all day today when i should have been studying. to be fair i was trying to study with them on in the background. the problem being that these fuckers are too damn funky. so i was bored with an internet connection, so guess what, i googled the shit outta them. found pics of them unmasked too but really who wants to ruin the mystery..................................

their live set up is spectacular..............but more on that in a minute......................

what is up my chunky and hip amigos, dudes and dudettes.

my final uni exams are almost upon me, and i have been extremely busy. partly with studying, but mostly with messing around with daft punk samples. i know i havnt been around very much on the blogosphere lately, so i thought i would upload a lil daft punk homage mix. just me messing around with samples. its not amazing but i had fun with it and the beat is solid, it is still a daft beat after all. i wanted to upload it and stream it pon de blog, but blogger has other ideas......... so im uploading it to mediafire...im actually uploading as i type this, damn its slow. south african bandwidth really toys with my emotions. i have actually done quite a few mixes lately, most of them have a very summer time vibe and im happy with them for the most part. i wanna upload them for everyone, but they have some unreleased tracks and bootlegs in them which might not go down so well with people... its also gonna take a year to upload them all at this rate..........anyway..the 1st couple seconds sound odd, dunno why. it jumped or summin........ just follow the links. hope it gets ur head nodding, even if just for a nanosecond. do it do it do it..........................................

i hate remix cuture....

the remix is a time honoured tradition in music, i posses many a remix, i have spun many a remix, but i am sick of producers being lazy and calling it remixing. i also hate the concept of pop music thieving tracks from house and electronic music. case in point is the new beyonce track, that beat is pon de floor by major lazer (diplo)... it was a huge elecronic hit in 2009/2010, and i loved it, i still play it, but now i know i am going to come to hate it. why/ because its now "that new beyonce track" and will get airplay for the next 6 years, once an hour. unoriginality breeding laziness in music.
